“The greatest wealth is health”
Virgil
So this isn’t a new discovery; it’s more of a tried-and-true fact. We shouldn’t ignore the direct link between health and wealth. I’m not saying money isn’t important, because we all need it to live, but I worry that we sometimes take our health for granted, which can affect our wealth and our ability to live a rich life.
Changing a lot of your habits all at once seems like a hard thing to do. In fact, doing so is likely to make you give up. Instead, choose one small thing you can do today and do the same thing again next week. For example, when it comes to money, we suggest picking a monthly amount that you can put toward something without really noticing it. This could be $50, $100, or $1,000, depending on your situation. Start doing that, and then add more to it.
Benefits that come along with living a healthy life:
1. Medical bills are expensive
People who are healthy spend less on health care. When someone is sick, they spend their hard-earned money on medical bills instead of doing things they like. Are all injuries or illnesses preventable? Of course not, but neither is the stock market going down. If you set yourself up for success, unexpected things won’t throw you off track.
2. Healthy worker are more productive
When we are healthy, we can do a better job at work. Studies have shown that healthy people can make more money and work more efficiently. If you are kind to yourself, you will be kind to others.
3. Feeling great gives you confidence
When you feel good about yourself, you are more likely to be confident and take action, which will help you reach all of your goals.
4. The cost of health insurance goes up
The cost of health insurance in the U.S. is already very high. Seeing a doctor or nurse every day will only drive up those costs and take money away from helping you reach your financial goals.
5. It’s free to move
Any good businessperson will tell you that you have made a great deal if you pay nothing and get a lot in return. Exercise like jogging, doing yoga in your living room, or dancing doesn’t cost anything, but it makes a big difference in your physical and mental health and, by extension, your wealth. There are also a lot of free online tools and fitness coaches that you can watch on YouTube. Today, give yourself a challenge!
6. Healthy people can stay productive for longer
Making money takes energy, so it’s often important to be healthy. If you do things that are good for your health, you can keep making money as you get older.
7. Health boosts your brain power
Your brain works at its best when you eat foods that are high in zinc, omega fatty acids, and other important nutrients.
8. Health is an investment
You can spend money on things like shoes, smoothies, vitamins, and so on. But this is an investment that might pay off in the long run.
Taking care of your health may be difficult, but it is essential. It may be challenging to make it a priority, especially if you have a hectic schedule, but you may begin by making little changes every day.
